At the recent Woolly Good Gathering in Edinburgh, I spotted an amazing jumper. The pattern was the Paul Klee Sweater by Midori Hirose. I instantly knew I had to knit my own version!
As I was already planning on foraging and plant dyeing a number of mini-skeins this spring and summer, to tie in with the launch of my "Botanical Dyeing on a Budget" workbook, this seemed the perfect project for the resulting yarns. I will need twenty-two 10g mini-skeins of Jamieson's of Shetland Spindrift 2-ply jumper weight Spindrift wool.
This week, I will scour and mordant the wool. I'll do this in two larger skeins then divide them into the necessary twenty-two minis. Once they are ready, I will start foraging! I will document the processes as I go. If you'd like to join in, use the hashtag #BotanicalDyeingOnABudget on Instagram or email me your pics so I can see your colourful yarns.
My workbook will be on sale from Tuesday 7th May at 10am (Edinburgh time).
