Although 2021 has started in lockdown, which will probably continue for some time, there are a number of exciting events this year.
It will be 100 years since the birth of one of my favourite artists, Joan Eardley on 18th May 1921. Hence, I’m planning on making a number of handmade large project bags inspired by her incredible seascape and landscape paintings to sell in my online shop. More information about Joan Eardley and her centenary celebrations can be found at the Joan Eardley website.
Sir Walter Scott will be remembered this year also. It will be 250 years since he was born on 15th August 1771. More information about one of Scotland’s favourite writers can be found at Abbotsford House. To commemorate this, I’m planning on making a range of one-off project bags in my Scott Monument design.
I’m also planning on virtually attending a number of online events from April 2021, starting with the Yorkshire Yarn Festival and then Unravel in May. Other events are being planned including the launch of a new branch of my textile design business, Woolly Botanicals producing project bags made from undyed and plant dyed yarns. And an exciting European collaboration!
And finally, Brexit. Due to the ongoing issues that so many people are experiencing with shipping purchases, my first online shop update will be next month, on Friday 26th February at 8pm (Edinburgh time).
So, after this rather long post, I’d better get back to work as I’ve rather a lot to do!
