Masham Sheep Fair

If you’re ever in North Yorkshire in late September, a visit to Masham Sheep Fair is time well spent!

This weekend, I travelled down with Fu of the Bearford Flock who was looking potentially to purchase a Teeswater tup, to add to her flock of Jacob and Shropshire sheep and alpacas.

The Fair takes place over two days but we decided to visit on the Saturday as there were a number of long wool breeds being shown. Shearing demonstrations, wool stalls, sheep racing, and a trip round the local brewery also beckoned!

But, the highlight was the sheep themselves! So, here are a few photos of the many beauties we encountered!

Teesdales

Dales Bred

Mashams

Blue Face Leicesters

Swaledales

Oxford Downs being examined by the judge

Jacobs parading for the judge

Texels, fleece dipped to highlight their white faces
